"Fabric: Form and Performance"
This rooftop cabana is an example of early student research and development of a proposal by Pratt Architecture student Saman Husseini. Saman's research played an important role in the initial stages of design, when the class focused on the rooftop condition as a program, coupled with ideas about the customizeable sanctuary. Note that Saman's slack vertical fabric - designed to blow and respond to the wind - is recreated as the stiffened eyebrow conditions that become the customizeable condition of the Light Canopy.
